Lai Eddy read law at the University of Reading, United Kingdom, and subsequently completed the Bar Training Course at Cardiff University. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in 2022, and was later admitted as an Advocate of the High Court in Sabah and Sarawak in March 2024.

Prior to joining Loke, King, Goh & Partners, he began his legal career under the tutelage of a senior counsel, where he was exposed to complex and high-stakes matters involving both civil and criminal litigation. This formative experience shaped his disciplined, fair and measured approach to advocacy, one that balances aggression with strategic restraint.

At the firm, Lai Eddy works alongside our Partners and fellow counsel on a wide range of matters. As he continues to build his budding legal career, he brings with him a depth of early exposure that belies his years of practice. He approaches each case with thorough preparation, adaptability, and a steady commitment to learning. His diligence, curiosity, and willingness to engage with complex disputes make him a dependable and contributing member of the litigation team.

His areas of practice include, but are not limited to:

  • Civil Litigation: building construction disputes, personal injury claims, contractual claims, family and matrimonial law, industrial and labour court claims.
  • Criminal Litigation: general criminal defence, criminal appeals and revision applications, remand and bail applications, mitigation and sentencing submissions.

Outside of court, Eddy remains deeply committed to continuous learning and professional growth. He views each case as an opportunity to refine his craft and contribute meaningfully to the firm’s tradition of principled advocacy and client-focused service.
